Founded in 1887.
Yoshiizumichaho began as a small shop in Kurogi Town, located in the Yame District of Fukuoka.
That was more than 130 years ago.
Our skilled growers value traditional craftsmanship and cut no corners as they continue to produce high-quality tea.
We deliver the charm of Yamecha throughout the world.
"Just how much emotion can be poured into a cup of tea?"
Yamecha’s history goes back 600 years.
It was developed using a production technique devised by "Nagatani Soen" in which the leaves are massaged by hand, and while this has transitioned into machine production in modern times, the culture and spirit that is characteristic of the Japanese people remains alive unchanged through time.
Modern tea craftsmen have maintained this spirit, and as a result of continuing to devotedly pursue flavor that communicates on an emotional level, the Yame Traditional Hon Gyokuro brand, grown in Yame, boasts both the highest production volume and highest quality of gyokuro in Japan.
